Health

Promoting accessible healthcare is one of the primary goals of our community development program. We reach out to people in need of healthcare through our mobile medical units, awareness sessions, screening camps, etc.

Mobile Medical Unit

GHCL Foundation runs a Mobile Medical unit in collaboration with Help Age India in various village panchayats in Madurai. The MMU team includes a medical officer, a pharmacist, a social protection officer and driver. This team mobilizes the rural community and helps in NCD (Non communicable disease) control.

General Health Camp

GHCL Foundation conducts General Health camps in partnership with the Dept. of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in Madurai and Manapparai.

GHCL Foundation assesses the community’s needs and mobilizes the doctor’s team as per field requirements. A follow-up mechanism has been developed for the patients to ensure continued support.

Health Awareness Program

GHCL Foundation organizes health awareness programs for villagers, especially rural women, in partnership with Dept. of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. The Foundation creates space to have secure interactions between medical officers and rural women on gynaecological issues. It addresses queries and supports healthy living for the rural women.

We organize anaemia screening camps for adolescent girls in Manapparai in partnership with Dept. of Public Health and Preventive medicine. Severe anaemia is rampant among women in villages around Manapparai. Based on these findings, GHCL Foundation conducts meeting with doctors’ team and distributes iron rich dates and tablets.
